Cala Tuent is situated at 40 kilometres from Sóller, between Punta de sa Corda and Morro des Forat, and below the shade of Puig Major (1445 metres high), the highest mountain of the Balearic Islands.
This sea inlet continues for two hectometres toward the interior of Serra de Tramuntana, and it finishes on a semicircular beach between rocky areas with thick pine woods on the top. The sand of the coastline has also some pebbles and coarse gravel in the composition of the substract of this wonderful coastal stretch of Escorca.
The marine and underwater conditions are not safe for anchoring boats because it is exposed to the wind from the northwest-north-northeast, and this is why the coast is very dangerous for anchoring boats on a sandy ground with gravel and rocks with a depth that ranges from six to eight metres. At 5,6 nautical miles there is Port de Sóller.
The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The driver will have to pay attention to take the deviation toward Cala Tuent, on a sinuous and descendent road. The private car can be parked in the surroundings of this stony area.
These characteristics explain that the beach is very crowded by local visitors and tourists.
In Cala Tuent finishes also sa Costera, one of the most beautiful walks you can do in Majorca. You will start out from Mirador de ses Barques, located over the Port de Sóller and walk for five hours, and it is not too difficult.
